Product information "Aja beads from the African trade, vintage glass beads from Venice"
I am offering a strand of wonderful small Aja glass beads/discs that were made in Murano/Venice for the trade with Africa in the 1800's.
Aja beads in such good condition are now hard to find.
Diameter between approx. 4 and 9 mm and a thickness of approx. 1-2 mm.
Strand length approx. 54 cm
Aja beads were mostly used as spacer beads due to their low thickness. In the meantime, they have reached the level of rarity, are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain and are therefore also very interesting for collectors.
The discs in this colorful composition with stripes have a high age and a long journey behind them and therefore show signs of age and use, which only testify to the authenticity of the beads.
In general, the beads are in good condition, consistent with age.
